Almond Flour Sugar Cookies with Frosting (GF, DF)

These sugar cookies are SO good and if you make them without the frosting they are relatively low sugar. They really don't need frosting; however with little kids they will soar off the plate with frosting.
Ingredients:
- 1 ½ cups almond flour
- ¼ cup arrowroot starch
- 1 tablespoon melted coconut oil
- 4 tbsp maple syrup
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ½ tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp almond extract
- ⅛ tsp fine sea salt
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees
- Add dry ingredients, stir then add wet ingredients & stir
- Roll cookies into balls and place on parchment paper, then press the dough down a little to flatten them
- Bake 11-12 minutes & ENJOY!!
*MAKES 12-14 cookies

Vanilla Coconut Oil Frosting:
Ingredients:
- ½ cup coconut oil, melted
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 4 cups organic powdered sugar
- 5 tbsp water
Instructions

In a medium mixing bowl using electric beaters, mix together the coconut oil with the vanilla.

Next, slowly pour in powdered sugar, one cup at a time, while keeping beaters going. Frosting will start to get thick.

Once you have all the powdered sugar mixed in, slowly drizzle in your filtered water until you reach the desired consistency.
*If you want chocolate frosting, just add cacao powder to your desired taste!
